Primary Election: March 2
About Jim Foster
Jim Foster's roots in Dallas County run deep.
His great, great, great-grandfather settled in northeastern Dallas County in 1856, and later served in the civil war.
His own military service during the Vietnam War era inspired Jim toward a career as peace officer. As an entrepreneur, Foster parlayed his policing skills into an alarm company business which he owns today.
Elected Dallas County Judge in November, 2006, Foster's soft-spoken and deliberate demeanor often ... well, disarm those around him. But many have realized not to underestimate the "gentleman judge".
Judge Foster has pledged to return harmony and cooperation to the Commissioners Court. He has been a successful advocate for clean air, established long-overdue emergency preparedness improvements, played a key role in obtaining significant jail standard improvements, led the charge to pave the way for a new Parkland Hospital.
However, there is still much work to do and it takes time, patience and consensus skills to undo years of disarray.
Fortunately for us, Judge Foster is up to the task thanks to his business acumen, his ability to keep the peace, and a passion for our future that runs as deep as his heritage.
